Update Pop Up

Hi,
we are using Version 4.7.2 and don´t need the Version 5 right now.

Our Users get the pop up for the Update to 5.X.X every start. Is there a way to disable that pop up? Because our users cannot Update anything on the device.

I searched in the FAQ, the Helpsource and also here in the forum, but did not find anything.

Help would be great.

Update checks are only performed at every program start if it the option "Check for updates at program start" is enabled in the preferences. You can disable it if you like.

Unfortunately, this won't solve the issue completely, because there is an additional "forced" update check for very old Non-Commercial versions (>400 days old). This was introduced because we regularly receive requests or problem requests about versions that are outdated for years, because users do not consider to update first. The update check/message is repeated every 1.5 months in these cases.

The intention was to implement this only for the Non-Commercial version, but it was implemented incorrectly, so now it is the same for the Pro version as well.

There are two things you can do right now:

  1. As this message will only appear every 1.5 months, you could ask your employees to simply close it.

  2. You can make a change in the settings.ini file that will prevent the check: To do this, the last update check date can be set to a date far in the future so that, in effect, no check will occur. For example:
            UpdateCheckDate=2020-12-29
            Change the date to:
            UpdateCheckDate=2030-01-01
