Exclude network adapters from Tray Info

Nice feature to have: The possibility to exclude specific network adapters from the Tray Info. I know the current options of hiding Disconnected, Disabled, Virtual and Connections, but these options will not suppress my unwanted network adapter:

For a remote support connection (Secomea (VPN like)), my PC uses a virtual network adapter, which is always active, even if the PC does not have an active remote support connection. Thus this network adapter is always visible in the Tray Info. The info for that network adapter is always unusable anyway, so I would want to hide it.

Re: Exclude network adapters from Tray Info

So what happens if you uncheck the option for Virtual Adapters in the Tray Info configuration? Does this not remove that virtual VPN adapter?

If it is still there after disabling virtual adapters, please send us its details.
Go to Tools > Adapters Details > Click the run button > Right-click that adapter > Choose "Copy: Adapter" and paste the result here. You can remove the second half of the MAC address for privacy reasons.

Re: Exclude network adapters from Tray Info

It is very strange that its bus type is shown as ISA, because that is an old hardware bus type:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industry_ … chitecture
Basically your driver is "lying" to your system for some reason. Virtual NICs normally show up correctly with "Bus Type: Virtual".
Would it be possible for you to ask the company behind that software why they are doing that? It might be just a bug on their side.

Developing version 5.x we didn't expect this to happen, so there is currently no solution and unfortunately there can't be a quick solution for this specific case. We will have to see if we get more requests like this, then we can decide how to proceed.

Re: Exclude network adapters from Tray Info

Thanks for that info. I adjusted the 'BusType' registry value to 0 and the LinkManager Adapter disappeared from the NetSetMan list, like it should. Adapter functionality is not affected as far as I can see.

I did ask the question to our support contact, so let's wait for them to get back to us.

Re: Exclude network adapters from Tray Info

Glad to hear your workaround solves the problem. Thanks for sharing! Maybe other users with the same constellation can use that, too.

Please let us know if you any response from your support contact.
