multiple networks gateway dns server

Hello, I am trying to use your program which I believe should do what I would like but I have the following scenario and problem.

I have a Synology server with dual ports.
I have setup the first port using 192.168.1.150 / 255.255.255.0
with a gateway 192.168.1.1 and dns server as 192.168.1.1
and the second using 192.168.2.150 / 255.255.255.0 with
with NO gateway or dns server.

On my pc, I have set NetSetMan Double-click
to obtain my default IP 192.168.1.48 with a Gateway and dns server as 192.168.1.1
and SET#1 to use an  IP 192.168.2.48 with a Gateway and dns server as 192.168.2.1

The reason I am doing this is to separate ip addresses of the security cameras.

When I click ACTIVATE on SET#1, the pc changes addresses but is unable to see the cameras.
Notes:
If I do an ipconfig /all I can see the ip changes of SET#1.
If I do these changes through my Windows 7 adapter settings and reboot I can access the security cameras.

Am I using the NetSetMan program incorrectly?

Re: multiple networks gateway dns server

Well we don't know if you are doing something incorrectly, but of course that is one of the very basic scenarios to switch between two pre-configured IP settings with two profiles.

Let us point out a couple of things:

  • Today we released NetSetMan 5.0.0. You seem to be using a 4.x version. Please first update, because we can only support the latest release. See if something changed just by updating.

  • "I have set NetSetMan Double-click"
That is just a default name to encourage users to double-click the tab to rename it. It is probably just confusing to use that name for a real profile.

  • "through my Windows 7 adapter settings and reboot"
Changing the IP address doesn't require a reboot. If you have to do this even if you change the IP through Windows directly, there is clearly something wrong. You should consider manually updating your network adapter driver (get it from the manufacturer website), just in case it is not functioning correctly.

If you are still having that problem, please do a screen recording (or a series of screenshots) to show the problem in pictures. Maybe we can then see what might be done incorrectly.
